Before thinking about mowing, make sure your machine is serviced and working correctly before dragging it out for your lawns first cut of the year.
If your mower needs a service, get in touch with us and the service guys we use can look after you and will even give you a discount for being an Ideal Lawn Care customer.
Make sure the lawn is clear of any leaves or twigs that may have accumulated over the winter, and then mow on a high setting, not taking more than a third of the lawns height off in one go.
You’re only looking to take the top off the grass with a view to stimulating growth in the early spring.
If you haven’t had your lawn aerated yet, now is the perfect time to get this done.
It allows oxygen to penetrate down into the rootzone of the lawn, it encourages deep roots and improves drainage.
Our spring fertiliser treatments, which we apply through March and April, will work a lot better if they are applied to an aerated lawn.
If you would like any further advice or would like a free lawn survey and treatment quotation, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our office on 0121 329 3000.
